OPEN ART EXHIBITION

Discover New Artists.
New Ideas.
New Stories.

The Pittenweem Arts Festival is delighted to relaunch its much-loved Open Art Exhibition as Fresh Perspectives: Open Art.

Fresh Perspectives celebrates creativity at every stage - if you're exhibiting for the first time, exploring a new direction in your work, returning to art after a break, or simply looking for a way to experience exhibiting as part of the Festival, Fresh Perspectives offers an open and welcoming platform to share your work.

Supported by Creative Scotland, the exhibition now has a spectacular home in the Fish Market Loft, right at the heart of Pittenweem Harbour and the heart of the Festival itself. One of our most atmospheric exhibition spaces, it provides a unique opportunity to showcase your work in a characterful setting steeped in the village's maritime heritage.

Our plan is to bring together a diverse mix of artists, styles and ideas, and we want Fresh Perspectives to be a place of discovery - where visitors can encounter new talent, fresh ideas and unexpected work. Whether you're taking your first steps as an exhibitor or are an established artist looking to try something different, Fresh Perspectives offers the chance to place your work in front of one of Scotland's most engaged arts audiences.

This year, we're also inviting artists to share the stories behind their work. Tell us about the inspiration, place, people or experiences that shaped your piece, or share something about your own creative journey. These stories will help visitors connect more deeply with the artwork and bring the exhibition to life.

New for this year, visitors will be able to vote for their favourite artwork in the inaugural Fresh Perspectives Award, celebrating the artists and stories that resonate most strongly with Festival audiences.

Fresh Perspectives is your opportunity to put your best work forward. Whether this is your first exhibition or your fiftieth, we encourage you to submit work that represents you and your creative journey at its very best.
