In my relatively short career as a full-time artist, I have been fortunate enough to sell many paintings. The price, whether high or low, is of no relevance; the absolute reward is the fact that one’s work has touched another person’s soul to the extent they say ‘I must have it’.

Selling a painting is the biggest thrill in the world – and it never diminishes.

The truth is I seldom meet the end user as the vast majority of purchases are made from galleries all over the UK and further afield, so the real joy of Pittenweem is interacting personally with those who come to look and hopefully engage in conversation.
