The Pittenweem Arts Festival is looking for enthusiastic, reliable people to join our team for the 2026 Festival. Whether you’re looking to gain experience, meet new people, or contribute to a vibrant cultural event, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be working as part of a small, collaborative team at one of Scotland’s most unique arts festivals — right at the heart of the East Neuk community.

OFFICE ASSISTANT
Dates: 13 July – 9 August (4 weeks)
Hours: Approx. 40 hours per week (including weekends)
Rate: £13.50 per hour
About the role
Support the day-to-day running of the Festival office. You’ll be a key point of contact for artists, visitors and the local community.
What you’ll do
- Welcome visitors and manage the reception desk
- Sell brochures and handle payments (cash and card)
- Respond to enquiries from artists and the public
- Provide admin support to the Festival team
What we’re looking for
- Friendly and confident communication skills
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- A positive, team-focused approach
A great short-term opportunity to build customer service and event experience.
GALLERY ASSISTANTS
Dates: 31 July – 8 August
Hours: 9:45am – 5:15pm (7.5 hours per day)
Rate: £13.50 per hour
About the role
Work directly with our invited artists in Festival venues, helping create a welcoming and professional experience for visitors.
What you’ll do
- Welcome and engage with visitors
- Help care for and protect artworks
- Open and close venues each day
- Answer questions about the artist and their work
- Support artwork sales and basic record-keeping
What we’re looking for
- Excellent people skills and reliability
- Strong timekeeping
- An interest in art (desirable)
INFRASTRUCTURE & CAR PARK TEAM
Dates: Approx. 30 July – 9 August
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (including weekends)
Rate: £13.50 per hour
About the role
Help bring the Festival to life behind the scenes.
What you’ll do
- Set up and dismantle venues and signage
- Support traffic management and car parking systems
- Assist with general logistics across the village
What we’re looking for
- Practical, hands-on approach
- Ability to work outdoors and as part of a team
- A driving licence is desirable
Please note: this role involves physical work, including lifting and long periods on your feet.
BROCHURE SELLERS
Dates: 1 – 8 August
Hours: Typically 9am – 4pm (may vary)
Rate: £13.50 per hour
About the role
Be a visible and friendly face of the Festival across the village.
What you’ll do
- Sell Festival brochures at key locations
- Provide directions and general information
- Engage with visitors and promote the Festival
What we’re looking for
- Confident, outgoing personality
- Comfortable handling money
- Good local awareness (helpful but not essential)
EVENTS VOLUNTEERS
Dates: 1 – 8 August
Flexible commitment: From a single shift to multiple days
About the role
Support the delivery of our growing events programme — from workshops and talks to family activities.
What you’ll do
- Assist with event set-up and coordination
- Welcome attendees and check tickets
- Support artists and event facilitators
What we’re looking for
- Flexible, can-do attitude
- Enthusiasm for arts and community events
