The Pittenweem Arts Festival is one of Scotland’s most distinctive and beloved arts events—transforming a historic fishing village into a vibrant, immersive celebration of creativity, community, and place.
We are now seeking a Festival Co-ordinator to play a pivotal role in delivering the next chapter of the Festival’s evolution.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to sit at the heart of a dynamic cultural organisation - connecting artists, community, and operations to ensure the successful delivery of the Festival.
You will:
- Be the central co-ordinator across all Festival workstreams
- Act as the first point of contact for artists, community members, and stakeholders
- Ensure the Festival plan stays on track through strong organisation and communication
- Support the Board with clear reporting, insights, and administration
This role is essential in ensuring the Festival continues to thrive as both a world-class arts experience and a vital community event.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Festival Delivery & Coordination
- Coordinate activity across infrastructure, events, and communications teams
- Track progress, identify risks, and report regularly to the Board
- Support delivery of key milestones, including artist registration and programme production
Community & Artist Engagement
- Be the main point of contact for artists and local stakeholders
- Build strong relationships across the Pittenweem community
- Manage artist registration and support exhibiting artists
Operations & Administration
- Oversee financial admin (Xero), invoicing, and budgeting processes
- Manage MS365 systems, website and documentation
- Coordinate tenders, partnerships, and venue interactions
Communications Support
- Assist with website and social media updates
- Support delivery of the Festival brochure and newsletters
- Help improve engagement with artists and audiences year-round
Strategic Contribution
- Support funding applications and partnership development
- Contribute to improving Festival experience using visitor and artist insights
- Help shape a more sustainable, inclusive, and future-focused Festival
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be someone who thrives in a creative, community-led environment and can bring structure, clarity, and energy to a complex project.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Highly organised with strong multitasking ability
- Confident communicator (written and verbal)
- Strong administrative and financial management skills
- Ability to use MS365 and content applications (for website management)
- Able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Passionate about arts, culture, and community
Contract Details
Type: Self-employed
Hours: 18 hours per week
Hybrid/flexible – applicants should be able to work in our office in Pittenweem for at least one or two days per week
