About Pittenweem Arts Festival

Pittenweem Arts Festival is one of the UK’s largest and longest-running community-led visual arts festivals. Each summer, the village becomes a vibrant network of exhibitions, studios, events and workshops, attracting artists and visitors from across Scotland and beyond.

The Festival’s brochure, website and visual identity, as well as lively social media engagement, are critical to its success - driving visitor numbers, artist engagement and earned income.

The Role – design-led, delivery-focused

We are seeking a hands-on Creative Content & Graphic Design Producer to deliver the Festival’s core visual and content assets.

This role is primarily graphic design and content delivery. The Festival’s success depends on:

  • a high-quality printed brochure that represents the diverse creativity of the Festival and drives attendance and revenue
  • an accurate, engaging and content-rich website that supports planning and programming
  • timely, visually strong social media content (including video-based assets) that build momentum before and during the Festival

You will work closely with the Festival Co-ordinator to ensure information from exhibiting artists and events personnel is translated into clear, attractive and well-structured content across these platforms.

Strategic direction and messaging are set by the Festival Board. Your role is to concept, design and deliver.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and produce print and digital assets (we presently use Adobe InDesign and Canva)
  • Translate programme and artist information into clear, attractive layouts
  • Work closely with the Festival Co-ordinator to coordinate content flow from artists and events teams
  • Create visually engaging social media content aligned to Festival activity
  • Maintain strong attention to detail across all published materials
  • Liaise with printers, volunteers and contributors to ensure smooth delivery
  • Support community-facing communications and respond to practical enquiries
  • Create and support PR opportunities that promote the Festival and engage with the local community
  • Provide progress updates to the Board

Contract Details

  • 6-month contract (ideally mid-March to mid-August)
  • 16 hours per week, with flexibility and increased intensity closer to the Festival
  • £20 per hour
  • Hybrid – but regular on-site presence in our Pittenweem office required
