AIMIE HARDING

WHERE ART MEETS SCIENCE FICTION

Aimie Harding creates sculptural works that bridge the organic and the speculative.

Aimie has recently earned her degree in Art and Philosophy from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. Drawing inspiration from nature and science fiction, she constructs intricate seed pod forms that evoke both natural growth and futuristic design.

Her process blends traditional and experimental techniques — wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramics, woodworking, sound recording, and creative writing — resulting in tactile, multidisciplinary pieces.

These works serve as vessels of time and imagination, resonating with themes of transformation, memory, and continuity. With a foundation in both art and philosophy, Aimie's practice invites reflection on our connection to the environment.

HENDERSON-INGLIS BURSARY AWARD

The Henderson-Inglis Bursary is an award presented by Pittenweem Arts Festival to support and celebrate emerging artists and craftspeople. The award is open to final-year students, recent graduates, and self-taught artists who have established their practice within the last three years. Named in honour of long-time festival supporters David Henderson and Sheila Inglis, it reflects the festival's commitment to nurturing new artistic voices

The winning artist is given a prime exhibition space on the Pittenweem shorefront during the festival, offering exceptional visibility to a wide audience. In addition, this year, shortlisted artists have been invited to take part in a shared exhibition at The Art Rooms, a respected gallery space on the high street. The bursary provides an invaluable platform for emerging artists to develop professionally and engage with the wider arts community. For more information click here.
