Childrens Events in 2010
All Week…….the Children’s Photography Competition!
Sponsored by award-winning photographer Maureen Traquair ABIPP
Photograph anything and anybody and any happening, around Pittenweem. The competition is open to two age categories: 6 to 9 years and
10 to 13 years inclusive. The entries will be judged by Maureen Traquair. Free entry. Prizes will be awarded.
Activities through the week include:
Open Air Painting Competition: Saturday 7th from 9am-3pm
Adult £2 - Over 11s £1 - Under 11s Free entry
This traditional and popular event, welcomes participants
of all ages and experience.
Painters and colourists have the day to capture some aspect of Pittenweem and the Festival.
Animation Workshop: Monday 9th 2-4pm
Scott Morris will work with a small group to create an animation. Age 10+
Creating Comic Characters: Tuesday 10th 11am-12pm Tickets £5
Cartoon illustrator and storyteller Keith Robson weaves an imaginative tale for 7-11 year olds. Through drawing and discussion they create their own characters.
Comic Techniques: Tuesday 10th 1pm-2pm Ticket £5
Using his experience in comic character creation, Keith Robson will encourage young people age 11+ to invent situations then imagine their characters' response using drawing and illustrative techniques.
Shrinking Plastic Jewellery Workshops by Kim Thomson: Wednesday 11th Tickets £5
There is one class for ages 6+ at 10-11am and another for age 10+ at 12-1pm. For more details visit: http://ktdworkshops.blogspot.com/
Crinoids and Clams: ancient fossil sea life on the Fife coast: Wednesday 11th at 10am Tickets £3
Come for a walk with geologist Dr Ruth Robinson and discover fossils of ancient sea creatures and forests. For ages 7-12 (under 10s with an adult). Bring sturdy shoes, a jacket and a bag.
Sketching Outside with Keith Robson: Friday 13th 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm
Artists and illustrator Keith Robson will hold two drop-in sessions on drawing, sketching and painting for any age and any skill level. Just bring your materials! This workshop will be held on the West Shore. Donations welcome.
Jewellery Beading Workshops by Kim Thomson: Friday 13th Tickets £5

Please note that tickets cannot be paid for by credit or charge card. However, tickets ordered by telephone can either be sent out by post immediately a cheque is received or alternatively, can be collected from the Box Office during the Festival Week. These provisions also apply to Children's Events. |
